This evening at approximately 5:00 PM, the Antioch Police Department made an arrest for the June 1980 abduction, rape and killing of 14 year old Suzanne Bombardier. She was taken in the middle of the night from her sister’s home at 3421 Hudson Court in Antioch while babysitting. She was missing for approximately 5 days and eventually found deceased in the San Joaquin River near the Antioch Bridge. VIDEO: Oakland cold case murder of musician solved; suspect killed in crash

OAKLAND (KRON) — It’s a major break in the murder investigation of an East Bay musician who was tragically killed outside of a nightclub in Oakland two years ago.

Twenty-six-year-old Emilio Nevarez was tragically killed in 2015. And on Thursday, KRON4 is learning new information about his killer.

Oakland police made the announcement Thursday. And they are hoping it brings some relief to the Nevarez’s family.

Until recently, Nevarez’s death was among OPD’s unsolved murders.

However, after a two-year joint Oakland police and FBI investigation, a tip came in that they say solved the homicide case.

“This past Monday the district attorney’s office made a

Cold case squad looks to solve New Castle County murders [video]

The arrest of a suspect in a 30-year-old Wilmington murder led New Castle County’s cold case squad to Dalton, Georgia.

The case of Joseph Braun, a piano teacher, who was killed in his home near Wilmington on July 1, 1985, had sat on the shelves until the cold case squad reopened it.

“I was approached by our now-retired Col. Elmer Setting, who had the wisdom to want to start a cold case homicide unit,” said Glenn Davis, who is half of New Castle County’s cold case unit.

Davis, who serves in a civilian capacity, along with Detective Brian Shahan make up the two-man squad. Davis says his civilian status limits him in some ways, but he’s still able to use his investigative skills to the fullest.

Shahan is a 20-year-old vet who admits to having to make some adjustments to his work style when he took the job. “I was a little hesitant

State Police highlight Belen woman’s cold case homicide in new video

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are trying a new tactic to solve some cold cases, starting with a 13-year-old mystery.

The murder of Elizabeth Gonzalez of Belen has puzzled investigators since she was found shot to death on a cold December day in 2004 near Tome Hill.

Now, State Police are sharing new details about the case in a video they put online.

“People are starting to talk, the walls are caving in. It’s a matter of time before we knock on your door. We haven’t forgotten, her family hasn’t forgotten and we’re going to continue to work this investigation until we resolve this issue,” Sgt. Mark Soriano said in the video.

In that clip, investigators say a man showed up at Gonzalez’s home. The friend with her that day told police Gonzalez left with that man in a green car, and that was the last time she

Police hope video will help solve Chesterfield cold case murder mystery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — The Chesterfield Police Department has produced a video on an 8-year-old unsolved homicide in hopes of getting new information on the case.

Damion West was 28 years old when he was killed while working as a security guard at Ivy Walk Apartments.

West’s grandmother, Constance Powell, said she and other family members still have so many questions about his death.

“I want to know what happened. Why my grandson is gone? Why did they do it? What makes somebody have that kind of hate in them,” Powell asked.

The police department teamed up with the county’s Department of Communications and Media to produce the video. The nine-minute clip includes interviews with detectives and family members and includes crime scene photos and reenactments.

Family members said the video gives her hope that someone who has information on the murder will speak up.

“Somebody knows something. Somebody seen something,” Powell said. “All they have
