Philly Man Charged in Cold Case Murder of Girlfriend Who Went …

A Philadelphia man has been charged in the murder of his girlfriend whose remains were found at a construction site three years after she went missing.

Jermele Hudson, 43, of Philadelphia is charged in the death of 40-year-old Pamela Lewis.

Lewis was first reported missing by family members on August 4, 2014. Investigators say Lewis had been involved in a physical altercation with Hudson, who was her boyfriend at the time, prior to her disappearance.
Lewis’ disappearance remained unsolved until June 19 of this year when contractors digging at a construction site on the 1700 block of W. Atlantic Street found bones at the location. At first the contractors believed they were animal bones.

On June 27, the contractors were once again digging at the location when they found what appeared to be a human jawbone wrapped in pink terry cloth as well as a hip bone,

Police: Man confessed cold-case Syracuse murder to ‘on and off again ex-girlfriend’

Syracuse, NY — Syracuse police questioned Alfred Thomas Jr. soon after a 21-year-old man’s death in 2007.

They questioned him again two years later.

But it wasn’t until cold-case Detective John Nolan put together all the pieces that police felt they had enough to arrest Thomas, now 30, in the death of Silas “Keith” Collier on the city’s South Side.

In-between the murder and Thomas’s arrest in December 2016, Thomas was twice acquitted for possessing a stolen gun.

Today, Nolan said in court that he put together forensic evidence — including fingerprints on a van and a weapon — along with an alleged confession to determine there was enough evidence for an arrest.

Nolan was assigned a few years ago to investigate cold cases — those which remained unsolved more than five years later.

It’s clear that Thomas was on police’s radar since Collier’s death. But the first time they interviewed him in 2005,

Norfolk man says girlfriend overdosed by accident as cold-case murder trial begins – Virginian

NORFOLK

Billy Everett did heroin with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his children one day in November 2007. The two then had sex and Everett fell asleep, his lawyer told jurors.

When he woke, Everett was lying next to her body, purple and blue. Lori Jordan killed herself through an accidental overdose, defense attorney Andrew Sacks said.

A decade later, Everett is on trial, accused of murdering Jordan. Prosecutors said Everett poisoned Jordan, intentionally giving her a deadly cocktail of heroin, cocaine, and alcohol.

Everett is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and defiling and hiding a dead body. If jurors convict him, he faces 20 years to life in prison on the murder charge alone.

Sacks painted Jordan as a junkie whose death ended a years-long descent into drug addiction.

Jordan had three children, two with Everett, Sacks said. All three were taken from her because of her addiction. One of their

Ariz. Man Accused of Murder in 25-Year-Old Disappearance of Girlfriend Over Alleged Custody Battle

In January 1992, Davette Gaunt disappeared without a trace from her Vista, California, home.

At the time, the 32-year-old Delaware native was in a custody fight with her boyfriend, Christopher McDonald, over their two-year-old daughter.

Police weren’t aware of the case until May 1993 when a witness came forward and reported Gaunt had been missing for more than a year. The witness feared she was the victim of foul play.

The case remained unsolved for more than two decades, but on Monday, 25 years after Gaunt went missing, McDonald, 64, was arrested at his home in Safford, Arizona.

“We do believe it was a case of domestic violence and the motive may have stemmed from a pretty contentious custody hearing going on at the time,” San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Ken Nelson tells PEOPLE. “We believe it was a fight, but we aren’t getting into the actual details. We have a very good idea

He was a brazen killer. She was a battered girlfriend. If she talked, she’d die.

This is the first in a five-part series about the oldest cold case homicide ever solved in Riverside County, Calif. The following story is based on a review of more than 1,000 pages of county court transcripts, court exhibits, police records, archived news articles and interviews.

February, 1972 – Diana Walker, 23, was five months pregnant, drifting off to sleep, when her boyfriend burst into their home, sweaty and frantic, with the legs of his pants covered in sand. His cheeks were flushed but the rest of his face was drained and colorless. Something was very wrong.

“What’s going on?” Walker asked, alarmed, sitting up in her bed.

“Get up,” he snapped. “Come on. I have to show you something.”

Her boyfriend, Michael, grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out of bed, yanking hard. She dressed quickly and he rushed her to the
