Gila County reopening 38 year old cold case of woman found …

PAYSON, AZ – 38 years later, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office is making a new push to answer one question: Who killed Marsha Wilson?

Wilson, 20, was found dead alongside SR 87 back in 1979. According to authorities, her body was found near a guardrail just south of Payson, between the 244 245 mile marker.

“I’m hoping somebody…their conscience has got to them,” said Detective Sergeant David Hornung with the Gila County Sheriff’s Office.

Hornung is taking a fresh look at the case. He told ABC15 while it was cold for several decades, the victim’s friend emailed the sheriff’s office last year urging them to take another look. Another deputy re-opened the case last August, but medically retired. Detective Hornung is now dedicating time to the case that has remained a mystery for nearly four decades.

“Whoever killed her still has this on their conscience, they murdered someone,” Hornung

Man Found Guilty In 1984 Rape, Murder Cold Case

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) — In August, 1984, a 14-year-old Bensalem girl went missing. On Monday afternoon, just shy of 33 years after her body was found in the woods, a verdict was handed down in the trial of the man facing charges of first-degree murder and rape connected to her disappearance.

Fifty-seven-year-old George Shaw has been found guilty of third-degree murder and indecent assault. Shaw was found not guilty of rape.

This was a bench trial for Shaw, who waived his right to a jury trial. In exchange, prosecutors took the death penalty off the table.

Families come together demanding justice for unsolved murder victims

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – As one grieving mom put it, this isn’t a fun club to belong to.

Dozens of people, all grieving the loss of a loved one whose killer hasn’t been caught, gathered at a parking lot at 3907 Crackerneck Road in Independence.

“We have over 80 murders so far this year. Over 80 this year!” yelled Michelle Metje, the woman leading the vigil.

“Once your eyes have been opened up, you can’t close them. And to me, I can’t just turn away from the television after watching somebody go through this and know that I could’ve done something and I chose not to,” Metje said.

Although a man was charged with her son Corey Laykovich’s murder in January, Metje wanted to continue the vigil for the countless others who are still searching. Each family member took the microphone and told their story, all having a similar ending – no closure.

Sister of cold case murder victim: ‘I’ve kept quiet for 11 years, it’s time for justice’ – WECT

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) –

July 30, 2017 marked 11 years since 34-year-old Allison Jackson-Foy went missing. Her sister, Lisa Valentino, says enough is enough and is demanding answers to this unsolved homicide.

“11 years later it is really hard to think about how she met her end, I read the autopsy reports over and over again in disbelief on how could someone have so much hatred for someone,” said Valentino.

Allison was last seen July 30, 2006 at a bar on Carolina Beach Road. Her remains were discovered in a wooded area about three miles away in 2008.

Since then, no one has been charged with her murder.

Sunday, Valentino sat in silence and dropped off flowers near the ditch where the remains of Foy and another woman, Angela Rothen, were found.

“I came to Wilmington this weekend because I feel like this is my last shot,” said Valentino. “I feel

Facebook tip-off could help solve cold-case murder of Adelaide mother

A Facebook tip-off has given police new leads in the cold case murder of Adelaide mother Gail King, who vanished 20 years ago.

9NEWS has learned Ms King’s sister-in-law, Cathy King, received a message on the social media platform, which contained potentially credible information about her disappearance.

“I was contacted via a personal message and this person wanted to be interviewed by the police so I asked them to ring Crime Stoppers,” Mrs King said.

“It’s a really big hope that this information they’ve given us is credible and that they can actually do something with it.”

Detective Inspector Greg Hutchins from the Major Crime Investigation Branch has confirmed police acted on the tip-off.

“We have spoken to a new person in relation to this investigation,” Insp. Hutchins said.
